SRVAIS's Purpose...

Salt River Al-Anon Information Service (SRVAIS) is a nonprofit organization that provides information about the Al-Anon/Alateen Program in and around the Phoenix, Arizona *area. SRVAIS is a service arm of the Al-Anon fellowship and works in conjunction with Al-Anon's World Service Organization and the Arizona Al-Anon Assembly. We have but one purpose: to help families and friends of alcoholics.

We do this by providing the following services:

  1. We are an Al-Anon Literature Distribution Center providing Al-Anon & Alateen books, pamphlets & other materials to the local community.

  2. We provide & maintain the current meeting lists for Phoenix and surrounding areas, listing all registered Al-Anon/Alateen meetings.

  3. We maintain a telephone answering service staffed by volunteers to help answer phone calls.

  4. We maintain an interactive web site as a public outreach to serve communities in the Phoenix area.

If you have questions you can call or visit us. You can purchase Al-Anon and Alateen literature during office hours or you can obtain it at most of the local Al-Anon or Alateen meetings.

Al-Anon/Alateen Preamble

The Al-Anon Family Groups are a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength, and hope in order to solve their common problems. We believe alcoholism is a family illness and that changed attitudes can aid recovery.

Al-Anon is not allied with any sect, denomination, political entity, organization, or institution; does not engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any cause. There are no dues for membership. Al-Anon is self-supporting through its own voluntary contributions.

Al-Anon has but one purpose: to help families of alcoholics. We do this by practicing the Twelve Steps, by welcoming and giving comfort to families of alcoholics, and by giving understanding and encouragement to the alcoholic.
